A Dance Opera for Symphonic-Rock Orchestra
(Extended Version) Is a musical work conceived for the movement of bodies. The music forms the foundation upon which the choreographic movement was developed and includes an adaptation of Pictures at an Exhibition by Modest Musorgskij, recognized by SIAE as a semi-original work, credited to Musorgskij–Carnevale. In this extended edition, the piece Incompiuta is presented in its complete form, and the entire work gains additional value through an analog remastering.

2. Igrayne
This piece is a fantastical portrayal, loosely based on the character from the movie Excalibur (the queen who will later become King Arthur’s mother). In the film, Igrayne dances to celebrate peace, but her sensual movements spark an overwhelming desire in King Uther Pendragon, driving him back to war just to possess her. The composition, featuring electric guitar, strings, and synths, is primarily contrapuntal, divided into two distinct parts.
3. Quadri
A reworking of Pictures at an Exhibition by Modest Mussorgsky, arranged by Tony Carnevale, with an interpolation of a quote from A Night on Bald Mountain by the same composer.
4. Il Cammino
‘A track created for the soundtrack of a production on Benvenuto Cellini (later realised by Battiato), it evokes the image of a long collective journey, a human caravan travelling without a precise destination’.
(Tony Carnevale)
Also referred to as “Donne” (“Women”), this piece is linked to a choreography that focuses entirely on the female aspect.
‘Incompiuta was composed from a choreography and synchronised with music, created directly on the movements of the dancing bodies, without prior writing.’
(Tony Carnevale)
As with almost all other choreography scores, it has become an original characteristic of the artist.
Tony Carnevale’s Third Album Release (1999)
This new 2022 edition, released in a vinyl-style CD format, extended and analogically remastered, was conceived and produced to meet two fundamental needs: to give the album its own identity, since the previous version was included in a triple box set, which also contained the first two albums, Risonanze (1990) and La Vita Che Grida (1995). The three albums contained the music that made up the soundtrack of the opera of the same name, with choreography by Elisabetta Melchiorri, also performed at the Cairo Opera House and the Teatro Olimpico in Rome; the second is to restore unity to the piece Incompiuta, created for a choreography by Maria Teresa Dal Medico, which had been divided into two parts, the first of which was published on this album and the second on La vita che grida. The album also contains an original reworking, recognized by SIAE, of Modest Musorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition. This new work, released on December 16, 2022, on a limited edition CD, sounds different from the original thanks to analog remastering and represents the first fruit of the collaboration between Tony Carnevale and SOUNDTRACK Records.
