(AGI)—Rome, May 29—Following the publication of his book “Oltre le note” last year and its presentation at the Turin International Book Fair, Tony Carnevale returns to the music world after several years dedicated to researching and mentoring young artists through his music education workshops, ANORA. These workshops recently celebrated 23 years of activity, receiving the patronage of SIAE and support from IMAIE.
Carnevale, an Italian composer, arranger, conductor, pianist, keyboardist, researcher, and educator, is a multifaceted musician, seamlessly transitioning from contemporary classical music to progressive rock and pop. He now releases “Tu Che Mi Puoi Capire,” a new album available on vinyl, accompanied by a complimentary CD included in the package to cater to all listening preferences. This album was preceded by the release of an Extended Version of the CD “III Movimento,” initially published in 1999. The new version includes a reworking of Musorgskij’s Pictures at an Exhibition, officially recognized by SIAE as a semi-original work, co-credited to Musorgskij and Carnevale.
(AGI) – Rome, May 29 – “Tu Che Mi Puoi Capire” includes, in addition to various pieces for piano and orchestra, a little sonata for solo piano and a tribute to Francesco Di Giacomo and Rodolfo Maltese of Banco del Mutuo Soccorso: a symphonic version of the well-known track “La Vita Che Grida,” originally released on the 1995 album of the same name. This version is a mini-suite for solo cello, piano, orchestra, and band.
From a compositional perspective, Tony Carnevale’s new album stands out for its use of diverse musical languages and formal freedom. It carries the subtitle “Images for Piano and Orchestra,” reflecting the artist’s intention to present sound as an “inner image” of the human experience. This concept ties into Carnevale’s extensive research, published in various books, including “Oltre le note,” which also lends its title to one of the tracks on the album.
“This subtitle,” explains the artist, “is connected to my personal research aimed at presenting music as a ‘psychic experience,’ where ‘sound’ is a psychic image. When we dream, images form in our subconscious, and we ‘hear’ sounds without physical perception. This demonstrates that sound, at a mental level, is an image. Then there is ‘resonance,’ the creative reaction of the listener, who forms a new ‘image’ within themselves—an inner experience stimulated by sounds, born from another human’s creativity.”
“Tu Che Mi Puoi Capire”, like “III Movimento,” has been released by the newly founded SOUNDTRACKS Records, which launched its journey into the music industry with these albums by Tony Carnevale. The works have drawn interest and acclaim from specialized music critics, even beyond Italy.
