The sixth work by the artist, marking the beginning of the TC Open Project. Its concept revolves around the word “Piano,” which has multiple meanings: from the instrument, to playing slowly, to playing softly.
It’s a call to the calm needed to fully appreciate the beauty of sound.
Actually I had thought about it before, but then the idea was shelved.
Why? I don’t know.
But it is as if I had suddenly found a connection between different music made in different times, for different situations and, therefore, a reason to collect them together; what this exact link is I do not know; even if there are things that they have in common: They all have an intimate character, they all have a communicative intent away from the clamor, they all tell intense emotions, but “plan”.
Some tell love stories, or at least try. Others follow an undefined line of research.
But these are all things I think, personal. Then I will try to tell the facts, going back in time, without a precise order.
There are music dating back to 1992 (tracks 9 to 13) when it was published in the magazine “Il sogno della farfalla” the homonymous script, written by Massimo Fagioli. The music was not intended to be a “soundtrack” or anything else, only the free expression of emotions aroused by reading the script, or perhaps emotions linked to the images of a much wider story that had deeply involved me already for a long time.
There are music that tell of personal relationships, stories that have marked my life and that gave birth to music that then marked the lives of other people, in this continuous exchange of things that never ends.
Risonanze, La Vita Che Grida, III Movimento.
Storie d’amore.
Tracks 2, 3, and 4 were used as the soundtrack for the film “A Un Millimetro Dal Cuore” by Iole Natoli.
Then, even more thoroughly, a recording of 1979, with some errors of execution that I did not care about, because there is an intention, in that playing “teenager”, which binds to these other songs in an incomprehensible way.
Then, perhaps, the discovery of something…
Maybe I didn’t know how to say “I love you”, maybe that was the reason why these songs weren’t together.
It took a woman, pain and new hope…
A small flower in the middle of the high tree.
So, perhaps now it is a little’ clearer the reason that led me to decide for this publication: “piano” is a word which means many things, but here there is no plan in the sense of “pianism”, nothing that is an end in itself; I just wanted to offer something, simply, out of every role and professional image, feeling only the emotions and thinking about the possibility of being excited by other human beings, to “feel”, as I hope it can happen to you, that you are reading these few lines…”
