III Movimento – A Dance Opera for Symphonic-Rock Orchestra is one of the most significant works in Tony Carnevale’s symphonic-progressive journey.
A musical and choreographic voyage that intertwines classical writing, theatrical energy, movement, and sonic architecture, offering a complete portrait of his artistic vision.
Originally released in 1999 as part of a triple box set together with Risonanze (1990) and La vita che grida (1995), III Movimento returns today in an Extended & Analog Remastered Edition: a restored and expanded version, finally brought back to its original nature through an in-depth technical and artistic process.
The work fully belongs to the language of symphonic progressive music, blending classical orchestration, narrative structure, choreographic dynamics, and the impact of the band into a form that transcends genre boundaries and asserts itself as an autonomous musical and scenic project.
Within the Extended Version, the piece Incompiuta is fully restored in its original form, and a rare re-creation officially recognized by SIAE of Pictures at an Exhibition by Modest Mussorgsky is also included, credited to Mussorgsky / Carnevale.
III Movimento has been presented in major international contexts, including the Cairo Opera House and the Teatro Olimpico, confirming the scenic, theatrical, and performative nature of the project, with choreography by Elisabetta Melchiorri.
The Worldwide Release 2026 edition is part of Tony Carnevale’s broader international authorial relaunch, bringing historical works back into the light through new analog processes and an artistic vision finally restored in its complete and definitive form.
III Movimento continues to be a work that unites music, dance, and imagination:
a symphonic, narrative, and deeply human experience.
